REC is the panel we would specify when the roof is genuinely part of the architecture and the homeowner will look at it every day. The Alpha Pure range is quietly design-led without pretending to be a lifestyle brand; the all-black finish looks correct on a slate roof rather than obviously photovoltaic, and the measured performance in UK cloud-heavy light is competitive with Longi's flagship. The reservations are price and stock. REC lands three to eight per cent above Longi on a like-for-like install, and merchant stock is thinner. On a design-sensitive roof, the premium is justified; on an inverted roof plane no one can see, it is not.
