Ventilation Planner
What ventilation does your home need?
Most UK homes are either over-sold MVHR they don't need or stuck with extract fans that don't work. Six questions and we'll point you at the right approach; and what it should cost.
What the assessment listens for
Kettle, hob, drying laundry. By mid-morning the kitchen is the wettest room in the house and the window is the coldest surface in it.
Where the moisture is being made
Kitchens and bathrooms produce most of it; sleeping bodies and drying clothes add the rest. Any sensible ventilation plan starts by naming the sources.
How airtight the house already is
An older, leaky home behaves quite differently to a recent build. The right answer for a 1930s semi is rarely the right answer for a 2018 new build, and the assessment respects that.
Which approach matches both
Sometimes the answer is simply better extract; sometimes a PIV unit in the loft; sometimes a full MVHR system. The point of the planner is to stop the wrong one being sold.
